Refund policy

Custom Tune Intellectual Property & Refund Policy: 

Custom tuning services provided by Black Bear Performance constitute proprietary digital intellectual property delivered to customer-supplied vehicle hardware. Because this software can be copied, retained, or reused after delivery, refunds cannot be issued once a calibration file or tuned control module has been provided. By completing purchase, the customer acknowledges:

 

  • Custom tuning is a non-returnable digital service
  • Vehicle mechanical or electrical condition is outside merchant control
  • Drivability concerns do not establish a defective service
  • Diagnostic cooperation is required before any remedy
  • Chargebacks filed after delivery of proprietary software constitute retention of intellectual property without payment

For these reasons, all custom tuning service sales are final once delivered.

 

Scan Cable Hardware and PCM Core Charge Refund Policy: 

  • Full refund available for Scan Cable Hardware or PCM Core Charge product purchases upon return of product to Black Bear Performance, Inc. at buyer's expense within 45 days of original shipment delivery date.
  • 75% cash refund available (less shipping costs) for Scan Cable Hardware or PCM Core Charge product purchases upon return of product to Black Bear Performance, Inc. at buyer's expense within 60 days of original shipment delivery date.
  • Partial refunds or customer credits may be available for Scan Cable Hardware or PCM Core Charge product purchases upon return of product to Black Bear Performance, Inc. at buyer's expense if received more than 60 days from original shipment delivery date.

General Product Purchase Return Policy (Excluding Scan Cable Hardware and PCM Core Charge): 

  • 100% cash refund available (less shipping costs) for all other product purchases upon return of product to Black Bear Performance, Inc. at buyer's expense within 14 days of original shipment delivery date.
  • Partial refunds or customer credits may be available for product purchases upon return of product to Black Bear Performance, Inc. at buyer's expense if received more than 14 days from original shipment delivery date.
  • Special order items are subject to a 20% re-stocking fee.
